Piranha colonizes the root system with positive bacteria, while the root system is populated with 24 positive fungus cultures by Piranha. Among them are 8 Trichoderma species and 16 endo- and ectomycorrhiza.

Trichoderma are very aggressively spreading fungus cultures which support the root growth while providing an excellent protection against root rot, Pythium (Grauschimmel) and Pythophethoria. The mycorrhiza fungi secrete substances that break down mineral nutrients, absorb water, inhibit soil-borne pathogens and bind soil particles in a porous structure. Mycorrhiza can increase the root surface by up to 700%. This symbiosis benefits both the plant and the fungus.

Studies have shown that nutrient and water intake has been improved as well as resistance to soil-burn diseases and climatic extremes. The plants blooms stronger, and require less intensive care.
